European Parliament approved a law according to which all countries' coordination of interstate agreements on energy with the European Commission is required. All existing contracts must be submitted to the European Commission. There they will be screened for compliance with EU legislation on competition. If found to be contradictions in the agreement will make changes.
In the future, every 3 years contracts must be sent to Brussels. In this case, any State unit may be requested consultation with the EU in negotiations on new contracts.
Could be threatened gas deals in Russia and the EU. This concerns first of all the old supply contracts with certain countries or contracts for the project "South Stream". For "Gazprom" in the latter case registered preferences, which may be contrary to the EU Third Energy Package.
Consequently, the "Gazprom" will be forced to allow third parties to the "South Stream". Russian gas monopoly, wants the European Union to eliminate the gas pipeline project of the Third Energy Package, but so far without success.
Recall that the 04/09/12 for "Gazprom" the European Commission opened a formal antitrust investigation. The Russian company is accused of violating the laws that emerged in the section of the market, setting artificially high prices for gas as well as preventing fuel purchases from independent suppliers. This situation is considered "Gazprom" as an element of political pressure to reduce prices.
