Uzbekistan will receive membership in the CIS free trade zone

Until the end of 2012 to the CIS free trade zone will join Uzbekistan. This was stated by Lebedev, head of the CIS Executive Committee. Uzbekistan could become the first country of the former Soviet Central Asian republics, which will join the free trade zone.

FTA is an initiative of the Russian Federation. Back in the 90's of the document under the FTA, but only in 2011, have been ratified. Then the agreement on joining the expressed Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Area officially earned from 09/20/12.


Previously reported that the provision of guidance to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Moldova voted for joining the FTA, but these countries have not yet ratified the treaty. In Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan in response to join the FTA is not yet ready.

Free trade zones are created around the world to promote the growth of trade between nations. Interested countries in the areas of maximum decrease import and export duties on various commodities.

In this case, the creation of a free trade area complete abandonment of duties does not. Thus, under the FTA agreement with Belarus and Ukraine Russia reserved the right to regulate the export duties on oil and gas. Ukrainian Government has previously stated that through the mechanism of a free trade area would insist on reducing or zeroing these duties.
