North Korea and China will establish two free economic zones

DPRK leadership signed an agreement with the Chinese Government on the establishment of two states in the territory of free economic zones.

First SEZ will be located on islands in the Ust p. Yalu River, which is the territorial border between China and North Korea. This free trade zone will be stationed company engaged in tourism and information technology.


The second "Free Zone" is located on the border of three countries - Russia, China and North Korea, in the city of Rason. In Rason planned to place the company's processing of raw materials, high-tech manufacturing, production equipment as well as highly efficient agriculture. Here it will be located and transport companies and created a "logistics center".

Start to create a free economic zone in Rason was laid in 2011. North Korea, in cooperation with the Railways are working to restore the railway from the city of Rason to the Russian station Hassan located in Primorsky Krai. DPRK authorities have now freed from restrictions on doing business the Chinese companies that rent mooring terminals in Rason.

In the recent 2010 North Korea's government signed a memorandum of understanding with state-owned China - "Shangdi Guanqun Investment". This company promised to invest about two billion dollars to build a plant for processing of coal, railway, highway in Rason City SEZ.
