Country's nuclear industry "rising sun" lost $ 46 billion

Nuclear energy loss of the rising sun after the accident at the nuclear power plant in Fukushima in 2011 is 46 billion dollars. If we add up all the losses suffered by the nuclear industry, the amount will be approximately equal to the profits that the company manufacturers of electrical and thermal energy received in the period from 2004 to 2011.

After a man-made disaster, the Japanese government is developing a strategy for the change in the share of nuclear power in energy production in the country. At government meetings are offered various options for the share of nuclear energy, from 0% to 25% by 2030. Most officials and the 70% in favor of the complete closure of all nuclear programs.

To improve the situation in the energy sector the government plans to close regional energy monopolies, telling them to divide the business of selling electricity from its production. Earlier, the same measures were undertaken various mills, for the development of competition in the production and sale of energy. For instance, in Germany and Spain, these measures have had some improvement.

At the same time for energy companies means the reduction of income as well as the fall in the value of the shares. In 2011-2012, the producers of nuclear power have refused to pay dividends due to the loss, which further undermined the confidence and reduced the value of the securities.

Currently in Japan in connection with the environmental threat, there are two nuclear reactors out of 50. Energy must be used as fuel oil and gas. The share of these resources has been increased by two-thirds, but the oil and gas are much more expensive, which leads to higher costs of energy production.
